The cursor cannot automatically load the rules

May I ask, after the cursor executes the command, it will proceed as shown in the following diagram:

; The rules need to be manually converted to the mdc format. The file header should include a "description" section, and "alwaysApply" must be enabled for the rules to be automatically loaded. Are there any other commands that need to be executed?

The current repo already ships Cursor rule source files with the required frontmatter, for example:

and common rules like common-agents already ship with alwaysApply: true.

So the remaining bug is not missing frontmatter in the repo content; it is the install/output path for Cursor rules. The in-flight fix for that is:

• PR fix: install Cursor rules as .mdc files #1393: fix: install Cursor rules as .mdc files #1393

That PR fixes the actual .md -> .mdc install behavior for Cursor rule files. Once it is merged, there should not be an extra manual conversion step needed after install.

I am keeping this issue linked to that PR rather than closing it early, because the PR is still waiting on the tail of the CI matrix.

Fixed by #1393 and now merged to main.

What landed:

• Cursor-targeted rule installs now normalize rules/ and .cursor/rules/ outputs to .mdc
• README files are excluded from that transform, so only actual Cursor rule files are rewritten

Closing this issue now that the install/output path is corrected on main.
