Kosovo cities #1116

Hi @alexgranadosbudesca! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the countries-states-cities-database team. Kosovo’s cities like Pristina are listed under the “states” level because the dataset only supports three levels: country, state, and city. Kosovo’s subdivisions are mapped as “districts” at the state level, and there’s no further city-level data provided for these districts, which is why no cities are linked to Kosovo in the dataset. This is a known limitation and affects other countries with complex administrative hierarchies as well. The maintainers are aware of these structural issues, and it’s a result of how the source data is mapped, not any explicit code logic in the repository. You can see similar discussions for other countries in the dataset, like the UK and Paraguay, where administrative levels are mixed or misclassified due to the same structural constraints (source, source, source). To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? Good | Irrelevant | Incorrect | Verbose | Hallucination | Report 🐛 | Other |

Hi, I’ve noticed that Kosovo appears in the data as a country, but cities like Pristina are listed under the “states” level instead of “cities”.
Additionally, there are no cities linked to Kosovo in the dataset.
Could someone please explain why it’s structured this way? Thanks!
