https://docs.brew.sh/Updating-Software-in-Homebrew should help you with this. I think if there is a new version it's better to update to that one right away. |

The docbook formula is currently broken, as all of the urls in the formula generate a 404 error. This is the result of a recent update to the website, which according to the homepage was rewritten in November 2025. The good news is that a new version has been published (5.2)!
The site has changed considerably, although the old site is still available at https://archive.docbook.org. I'm willing to try a PR for this formula, but I'm not familiar with how it works and wanted to raise the issue here to see if there was someone else who might be better qualified to address it. If simply updating the formula to change references from docbook.org to archive.docbook.org is acceptable (at least as a short-term solution), I'm happy to do that.
Is there a maintainer or user familiar with Docbook willing to update this formula or provide guidance on how to proceed? Thanks in advance!
