I submitted all the required documents to GitHub Education Support over a month ago as part of the verification process. Despite providing all official documents requested, I have not received any response to date.
I have made every effort to provide complete and accurate documentation, including official stamped enrollment proof and translations as required. However, after all this work, I am unsure of the current status of my verification.
Even if the application is ultimately approved or rejected, I believe it would be helpful to receive a clear response, so I know if anything else is required from me. At this point, I am unsure what steps to take next, despite completing all requested actions on my side.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance from the community or GitHub Education Support on how to proceed.
Hi
you wont get a status update here (the community cant see your application or your documents), but a month with no response is often explained by how github changed education support:
github removed support ticket options for individual global campus application reviews and application status updates, and directs users to the github education community for those cases.
what you should do next:
check your actual application state
go to settings, education benefits and see whether its approved, denied, pending, then use the start an application flow from there (thats the documented path).
if its denied: reapply with proof that is easy for automated checks to read: clear image, full name, school name, and a current date/term. also make sure your billing and profile name matches the document exactly (no nicknames/variants).
if its pending for a long time, dont keep opening new support tickets, just reply on that existing ticket (if you have one) and include your github username and screenshots of the status page (redact sensitive info).
Thanks for the explanation. Just to add more context: my previous support ticket was closed, and I am unable to reply to it (I get an error).
When I try to open a new ticket, I receive a message saying it was submitted, but it does not appear in my ticket list and I do not receive any confirmation email.
That is why I was unsure how to proceed. I have now started a new application using the Education Benefits flow as you described.
