Confused about GH-100 Study Prep: MS Learn vs. GitHub Learn

Hi team, I am currently preparing for the GitHub Administrator Certification (GH-100) but need some clarification on the official study guide. I have found three different resources:

1. The GitHub Administration Exam Preparation Study Guide (PDF).
2. The GitHub Learn portal for the Admin certification.
   -- The PDF and GitHub Learn content are almost similar.
3. The Microsoft Learn GH-100 Study Guide.

Microsoft Learn seems to cover fewer topics and includes a section Skills measured as of July 2026, could you please advise on which study path is the single source of truth for a learner right now?"

Note - This is the same for all GitHub Certifications.

The exam objectives themselves are the real “source of truth” — not necessarily the learning platform hosting them.

Right now, GitHub certifications are integrated into the Microsoft Learn ecosystem, which is why:

• the official study guides
• “Skills measured”
• exam updates
• scheduling/credential info

are maintained there. 0

Meanwhile, GitHub Learn is primarily the training/content delivery side. Its learning paths are useful for preparation, but they may not always mirror the latest exam weighting or objective wording immediately.

So for GH-100 preparation, the safest approach is:

• Treat the latest “Skills measured” section on the official GH-100 study guide as the canonical exam scope
• Use GitHub Learn modules as supporting preparation material
• Use GitHub Docs for deeper feature-level understanding and hands-on practice

If there is any mismatch between a PDF, GitHub Learn path, or older content, the currently published “Skills measured” section should take priority because that is what the exam blueprint is based on. 1
