3D sphere not showing

I'm trying to render both a sphere and a terrain, but I'm having trouble figuring out why it's not working as expected.

My code is bellow.

I can see the scatter_layer rendering correctly, but the sphere_layer doesn't appear at all. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?
