Error: Semaphore timeout period has expired

Hi

I've been getting a lot of these errors lately and wondering if any of you had any ideas as to what could be wrong.
The database server is a Azure SQL Server.

(provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.) ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (121): The semaphore timeout period has expired. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean

Port is 1433 and protocol TCP. Everything is running in Azure.

This is a solution that has been running fine until last week.
