2869 Add description for multi-files in image readers

Fixes #2869 .

Description

This PR added description doc to the images readers for the user's feedback about loading multi-files together.

• New tests added to cover the changes.
• Integration tests passed locally by running ./runtests.sh -f -u --net --coverage.

• In-line docstrings updated.
• Documentation updated, tested make html command in the docs/ folder.
