Hello,

I need to power the board with a regulated external 3.3V (preferred) or 5V source:

In case of 3.3V:

  • Is ok to connect it trough 3V PIN and GND?

In case of 5V:

  • Is ok to connect it trough 5V PIN and GND?

In any case:

  • Sometimes a USB (PC) connection must be made to upload firmware, what happens when the two power sources are connected at the same time? If this is bad, using a Schottky diode on the external power source can solve this issue? I need to be sure that both devices are safe (board, external power source and PC)
  • Does the T-Display-S3 include any protection on the USB side for backfeed and protect the PC?

I'm sorry if my technical language here is not adequate, I'm no expert.

I have also read that when using external power some pins must be changed @teastainGit

Thanks. All help is much appreciated.
