Bad mobile layout for ui-select-choices

Would it be possible to rewrite the ui-select-choices so that it uses a <select/> instead of a <li/> with <div/>'s inside it? 

As of now if you are using this ui-select component mixed in with <select/>'s you get a very mixed experience filling out the form due to that the browser in cellphones and tablets have their own interpretation of how a <select/> should be displayed.
