If you use precompiled libraries more likely you will see the same error as here:

apple/tensorflow_macos#21

its common for all projects and more likely the same for brainflow.
I have no ARM Mac to test.

If I understand this correctly https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple-silicon/building-a-universal-macos-binary its possible to create a universal binary which targets both archs.

Need to compile code for both archs and after that join them together to single binary.
Not sure that it works for dylibs, maybe only for executables. Need to check.

Also, in this article there is another workaround. There is a way to force python(or any other exe) for x86 arch:

"Users can force the system to run the app under Rosetta translation by enabling the appropriate option from the app’s Get Info window in the Finder."

Also, if I get it correctly on latest MacOS versions there must be a cross compiler for another arch preinstalled

The problem as I understand it, now python3(for example) is a universal binary and it can decide which real version of python to run. On M1 processors by default it starts python for ARM, brainflow libraries are not universal(still x86) and as a result it tries to load x86 libs to ARM binary.

Need to make brainflow libs on MacOS universal. Two workarounds for now:

• rebuild from the source locally
• force x86 version of python(any other exe) and it will work via rosetta
