Improvement Request: 3-View: Method of showing that there are notes in the bottom octaves and not just the highest octaves

It'd be really great if, when I'm looking at the highest octave's highest notes, and I switch to another pattern, that I somehow see that there are notes down below there too. A couple of times I've actually overwritten notes because they're in the C-2 range, and I've been in C-9 range and thought, hey, this pattern is empty :)
