How to add CPU temp to the Server Stats widget

Hi all,

I have sensors-lm installed in the host, it’s output is as follows:

I tried setting cpu-temp-sensor to coretemp-isa-0000, Core 0 and Package id 0 but nothing worked. It doesn’t show CPU temp in the widget. It does display CPU, RAM and disk load though.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Hey, I just published a new release which added the sensors:print command that lists the sensors Glance has access to, could you please run the command and provide its output? Assuming you're using Docker:

docker run --rm glanceapp/glance:v0.7.10 sensors:print

Otherwise, with the binary it should just be:

./glance sensors:print

I am using dockge to manage containers. Updated glance to 0.7.10.

root@dockge:~# docker exec -it glance /bin/sh
/app # sensors:print
/bin/sh: sensors:print: not found

root@dockge:~# docker run --rm glanceapp/glance:v0.7.10 sensors:print
Failed to retrieve list of sensors: Number of warnings: 1

Let me know if you need more testing.

I made it so that the individual warning messages also get shown in v0.7.11, could you try again please?

docker run --rm glanceapp/glance:v0.7.11 sensors:print

Or within the container:

/app/glance sensors:print

I'll be honest, I haven't seen that one before. If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say that maybe the container has been stripped of access to that information. Could you try running the sensors:print command using the native Glance binary on your host? That should give us a hint as to whether it is something to do with the container or an issue with Glance.

You have to download the native binary for your OS and architecture (presumably linux-amd64) from the release page, unzip it and run it like this:

./glance sensors:print

I was met with the same issue, the results were the same on the host machine as the docker.

cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon4/temp1_input
cat: /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon4/temp1_input: No data available

Submitted #583 in an attempt to address it.
Sensors are still collected and returned by gopsutil regardless of the warnings generated.

Hey @Bittabola, the fix from @anxdpanic is live in v0.7.13, could you please give this another go using that version? Sorry for the back and forth, just wasn't sure what the issue was but it should be fixed now.

Ugh, I'm so sorry, there's a tiny issue with the CLI command which I missed, I believe the widget itself should work. Could you try removing the cpu-temp-sensor property from the widget and letting Glance automatically read from the coretemp_package_id_0 sensor?
