GitHub Copilot just changed my model without telling me.

1. I submitted a prompt using Claude Opus 4.5 as I have thousands of times.
2. I get a 400 error saying the model is not available, and there is a big blue button to retry.
3. Instead of hitting the big blue button, I hit the tiny "retry" icon (the circle arrow).

It waited forever (issue #285951). The output looks funny, and tries to do some funny things (i.e. use the mvn command in an odd way). That's when I noticed it has changed my model to GPT-4.1!!

GitHub Copilot must not change my selected model without my specific action. If the model is not supported, it should produce an error, and not take it upon itself to select some other model of its choosing.

Me too guys, I just started using GPT 5.2 and its just disappeared and my VS code crashed.

I was also using Claude Opus 4.5 and it died. It had been having issues for the past couple of hours (it would make changes to lines and reports +0 -0 for changes).

I can confirm that other models still respond, but I'd like to have Claude Opus 4.5 back.

@connor4312 , sorry to bother you, but I see you were working on tickets recently. Can you simply ping someone and make sure this apparent system issue is investigated and escalated quickly? Thank you.

(If https://www.githubstatus.com/ were reflecting an issue, or if someone would acknowledge the issue here, we would at least know someone was looking into it. But the GitHub status page says all clear.)
