How to Cancel or Opt Out of GitHub Copilot In the left sidebar, click on Billing & licensing. Look for the GitHub Copilot subscription section. From there, you will see options to modify, manage, or cancel your subscription |

Hi, welcome
No need to feel dumb GitHub can be confusing at the beginning.
Just to clarify: GitHub Desktop is free, and you do not need a paid Copilot plan just to use GitHub or learn Swift.
If you want to cancel or opt out of GitHub Copilot, go to your GitHub settings, then Billing & licensing, and look for the GitHub Copilot subscription. From there, you should be able to manage or cancel it.
If your main goal is only to download or work with a project, GitHub Desktop may help, but it is not required in every case.
Could you share what app or repository you were trying to download/extract? Then someone can guide you step by step.
