Adding this extension does not add PHP language syntax support

I added this extension as "@theia/php": "next" to the dependencies and ran yarn again, however I still do not have PHP language syntax highlighting, even tho' it seems to install just fine and so am confused as to what this extension is supposed to do? I tried running yarn rebuild:browser as per the README of this extension, but that just gives me error Command "rebuild:browser" not found..

I found https://github.com/cdr/code-server to be a better alternative to theia for php
