Summary of Changes

Hello @DwyaneShi, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses an issue within the vLLM integration Dockerfile where the aibrix repository might not have been cloned correctly, especially when specific branches or tags were required. The changes ensure that the Docker build process can reliably fetch and utilize the intended version of the aibrix codebase by performing a full clone followed by an explicit checkout of the specified branch or tag, thus improving the robustness of the integration environment.

Highlights

  • Dockerfile Update: The git clone command in the vLLM integration Dockerfile has been modified to ensure proper repository cloning and branch/tag checkout.
  • Shallow Clone Removal: The --depth 1 option was removed from the git clone command, which previously created a shallow clone and could prevent checking out specific tags or older branches.
  • Explicit Branch Checkout: The repository is now first cloned completely, and then the specified AIBRIX_BRANCH is explicitly checked out, ensuring the correct version of the codebase is used for the integration build.

Code Review

This pull request updates the Dockerfile to allow cloning repository tags by switching from a shallow clone to a full clone. While this change enables checking out tags, performing a full git clone is inefficient for Docker builds as it significantly increases layer size and build time. I've suggested using a partial clone (--filter=blob:none) as a more efficient alternative that still allows checking out tags without downloading the entire repository's file content history.
