Summary of Changes

Hello @Jeffwan, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request marks the official "v0.5.0" release for the Aibrix project. It systematically updates all relevant version numbers across various Kustomization overlays and Helm charts for core components like "gateway-plugins", "metadata-service", "controller-manager", and "runtime". Additionally, the documentation has been revised to reflect the new release artifacts and to provide an updated example for API routing. A key update in the quickstart sample includes upgrading the "vllm-openai" image and streamlining the model service configuration.

Highlights

  • Version Bump: All core Aibrix components and Helm charts have been updated to version "v0.5.0", with some stable chart images set to "v0.5.0-rc.3".
  • Documentation Updates: Installation and quickstart guides now reference the new "v0.5.0" release artifacts and include an example for using a "routing-strategy" header in API calls.
  • VLLM OpenAI Image Upgrade: The "vllm-openai" image in the quickstart sample has been upgraded from "v0.7.1" to "v0.11.0".
  • Sample Configuration Refinement: A redundant "Service" definition has been removed from the "model.yaml" quickstart sample.

Code Review

This pull request prepares for the v0.5.0 release by updating version strings across various configuration and documentation files. The changes are mostly correct, but there are a couple of important issues. In dist/chart/stable.yaml, several image tags are being set to a release candidate (v0.5.0-rc.3) instead of the final v0.5.0 version. Additionally, a critical part of the quickstart sample, the Kubernetes Service for the example model, has been removed from samples/quickstart/model.yaml, which will likely break the quickstart guide for new users. I've left specific comments on these issues.
